Matthew Harman, PharmD, MPH, MBA, CEBS
As vice president of clinical solutions, Matt monitors, evaluates and improves pharmacy plan performance for Employers Health’s $5.9 billion group purchasing programs with CVS Health, Optum Rx and MedImpact. He proactively works alongside more than 475 self-insured plan sponsors to deliver clinical insights and targeted strategies. His work helps reduce pharmacy spend while supporting the health of more than 1.9 million individuals.
Matt founded and serves as the director of the Employers Health managed care pharmacy residency program. Under his leadership, the team has grown to 13 full-time managed care pharmacists. Additionally, he serves as program officer for the Employers Health Foundation and oversees the organization’s Flu Immunization Program, annually administering flu vaccines to thousands of individuals at their workplace.
He currently serves on the Schools of Pharmacy Relations Committee for the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) and the pharmacy committee for Beacon Charitable Pharmacy. He is also a member of the Society for Women’s Health Research – Autoimmune Network and a voluntary faculty member at Northeast Ohio Medical University. Matt earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky, where he co-founded an AMCP student chapter and served as the inaugural president. While obtaining his PharmD, he enrolled in the College of Public Health to obtain a Master of Public Health with a concentration in health service management. Matt completed his residency training at The Ohio State University Health Plan, which expanded his knowledge and skills in managed care pharmacy. In 2025, he received his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in organizational leadership from Youngstown State University.
