Garrett Brown
With over 15 years of experience at the intersection of law, health care and employee benefits, Garrett serves as general counsel for Employers Health. A trusted advisor and strategic partner to executive leadership and the Employers Health team, Garrett specializes in navigating the complexities of managing key projects, including data initiatives and transformation, vendor management and legal matters such as corporate governance, risk management and contract management. In this role, Garrett leads the organization’s legal, analytics and business intelligence teams and provides support and resources to Employers Health clients and their advisors. He also oversees Employers Health’s annual market check contract renegotiation with its PBM suppliers and provides oversight of the annual audit of Employers Health’s PBM programs.
Outside of Employers Health, Garrett currently serves as vice chair of the board of directors for Beacon Charitable Pharmacy and chair of the board of directors of Pegasus Farm. He was a member of the 33rd class of the Leadership Stark County Signature Program. In 2024, he received the United Way of Greater Stark County’s DeHoff Emerging Philanthropist Award and was selected to the yStark! 20 Under 40 class recognizing young professionals for their accomplishments and work in the community. Garrett has also served as an adjunct professor of health law at The University of Akron School of Law.
Prior to joining Employers Health, Garrett obtained a Bachelor of Arts in pharmaceutical business economics and a minor in finance from Ohio Northern University. Garrett completed his Juris Doctor at The University of Akron School of Law. While in law school, Garrett was active in the health law certificate program and served as an assistant editor of the Akron Law Review. Garrett holds a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation.
