Raquel Reinbolt, M.D. The Ohio State University James Cancer Diagnostic Center
Dr. Raquel Reinbolt is an internist and medical oncologist with clinical and research expertise in breast cancer, therapy-related sequelae and supportive care. She specializes in the diagnosis and delivery of clinical medical oncology care to patients in all stages of their disease.
Raquel received her medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and completed an internal medicine and chief residency at The Ohio State University. She then completed a combined hematology and medical oncology fellowship, as well as a breast medical oncology fellowship at Ohio State. She joined Ohio State’s faculty in 2015 as a breast medical oncologist, where she further developed her research interests in supportive care and therapy-related sequelae. Her collaborative research efforts to date have resulted in multiple publications and presentations at national and international meetings. She has also been recognized among the top 10% of providers nationally for patient satisfaction.
Given her passion for enhancing care delivery and clinical operations across the cancer care spectrum, Raquel later shifted her focus to the inpatient and transitional oncology settings, where she now serves as physician lead for the James Hospitalist Cancer Service and medical director for both The James Immediate Care Center and The James Cancer Diagnostic Center. As lead of the James Hospitalist Cancer Service, she oversees a team of providers with unique experience in the care of hospitalized cancer patients. As the medical director of The James Immediate Care Center, she focuses on the delivery of comprehensive supportive care to cancer patients with acute needs. In The James Cancer Diagnostic Center, Raquel leads a team dedicated to providing direct, expedited access to diagnostic testing for any sign or symptom concerning cancer.
More recently, she was named medical director of The James Cancer Care Continuum, which allows her to draw on her unique experience across the ambulatory, transitional and inpatient spaces. She works with a team to optimize quality, access and resource use. Above all, she is committed to providing innovative mechanisms by which to deliver personalized, interdisciplinary care throughout the varying health care settings experienced by cancer patients. Like so many of the team members at The James, Raquel considers herself honored to walk on this path with her patients and strives to improve their cancer journey experience.
