Assistant Benefit Plan Administrator – Southwestern Ohio Educational Purchasing Council (EPC)

Job Summary
EPC is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Benefit Administrator. This new position is result of program growth and expansion of services.
EPC is a purchasing cooperative serving public school districts throughout Ohio. The Benefits Department provides self-funded medical, dental and vision plans covering approximately 20,000 members. The Assistant Benefit Plan Administrator would help administer and maintain all plans, including claims resolution, customer service and other duties as required.
Essential Functions:
- Customer service
- Claims resolution
- Public speaking
- Preparation and execution of presentations to school employees
- Maintaining Vendor relationships
- Maintain adequate training to stay current on new rules and regulations affecting benefits
- Perform other duties as assigned by the EPC
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- HR and Benefits knowledge
- A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
- Accounting skills and the ability to consistently and accurately compute and record mathematical data
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, data entry, spelling, proofreading, and the correct use of grammar
- Interpersonal relationship skills
- Dependable
- Detail-oriented
- Organizational skills
- Time management skills
- Ability to work effectively with other employees
Abilities Required:
- Customer service attitude and ability to communicate with people in difficult situations
- Ability to work cooperatively with others and to take instruction from the Benefits Director
- Ability to handle confidential matters; set priorities, work well under pressure with an attention to detail
- Self-motivation, with the ability to work with little direction
- Proficiency in written and oral communication skills
- Experience and proficiency in using spreadsheets, word processing, and data base applications
- Ability to look at an issue and form a corrective action
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as EPC may find appropriate and acceptable
