Mike Buddenberg, MBA
As a member of the Employers Health business development team, Mike works with employers and plan sponsors to identify and provide solutions that yield high-quality benefits at a sustainable cost. Mike started his career at Employers Health in a sales operations role where he worked strategically with both the sales and marketing teams to plan and execute the annual growth strategy. Today, Mike manages the states of Virginia, Maryland, Michigan, Wisconsin and Washington with the goal of growing Employers Health’s pharmacy benefit purchasing collective.
Prior to joining the Employers Health team, Mike attended the University of Akron where he obtained a degree in business administration while balancing the life of a Division 1 student-athlete. As a student-athlete, he learned the values of dedication and hard work, which led him to achieve his goal of becoming a four-year starter and earning a full scholarship. Mike was a part of Akron’s most winning football team in school history, competing in the MAC championship game (2017) as well as playing in two post-season bowl games (2015/2017). In 2014 and 2015, Mike was recognized with the Academic Football Award for the highest GPA in his graduating class.
Raised in Canton, Ohio by a former professional athlete, Mike learned from a young age that football is more than just a game. Outside of his role at Employers Health, he uses what he’s learned through his recruitment and college experience to help high school and collegiate athletes navigate their journey to the next level of competition. Mike also serves as a volunteer for the Pro Football Hall of Fame during its enshrinement week, which he and his family have done for the past decade.
In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time outdoors with his friends and family. Hobbies like fishing, golfing and hiking keep him busy outside of his day-to-day responsibilities at Employers Health.
