Michael Faughnan Lockton Companies
Michael Faughnan, senior vice president at Lockton, serves as the strategy team lead for Lockton’s largest clients. The clients he serves are typically larger than 2,000 employees, self-fund their own health care plans and are progressive in their approach to benefits management. Michael has 30-plus years of experience in helping mid-size and large organizations develop and execute targeted benefit plan strategies. His primary areas of expertise include aligning operational goals and benefit objectives, analyzing plan utilization, implementing cost-cutting strategies and selecting best-in-class vendors for improved efficiency. During his career, he has consulted with organizations across many industries, ranging from 500 to 60,000 employees.
Michael received his bachelor’s in economics from Colorado State University with a minor in statistics. He began his career as an underwriter for a major insurance company where he evaluated risk profiles and set life, disability and health care rates for large organizations. Additionally, he has worked for three national employee benefits consulting firms in New York and Denver, where he held regional and local leadership positions. Prior to joining Lockton in 2011, Michael was the benefits practice and market leader for Aon’s Denver office.
