Melinda Morimoto Genentech
Melinda Morimoto is the senior benefits director at Genentech. She leads a team of strategic reward partners who design, manage and communicate leading-edge benefits for over 22,000 U.S. Genentech and Roche employees. She is a dedicated employee benefits thought leader with more than 30 years of experience.
She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley and began her career in benefits as a financial underwriter at Aetna in Walnut Creek, California. She spent seven years in corporate benefits consulting at Hewitt (now Aon) and Towers Perrin (now WTW). Melinda founded her own benefits consulting practice in 1999, which she operated until January 2018, with the exception of one year working as director of global benefits at eBay, Inc.
Melinda joined Genentech having experienced the culture and mission while consulting with the benefits team. Under her leadership, Genentech has enhanced benefits to deliver equitable and inclusive benefits for its diverse workforce. Her team strives to advance health equity to improve the health and well-being of its employees, their families and communities.
Since joining Genentech, Melinda has had the honor of speaking at several conferences for employers on topics including “Genentech’s Guide to Cancer Care,” “Tackling Black Health Care Disparities: The Time is Now,” “A Culture That Thrives” and “Driving Benefits Equity.”
