Dan Byrne Eli Lilly and Company
Dan Byrne is the associate vice president of Lilly Employer at Eli Lilly and Company. In this capacity, Dan focuses on leading a field team that engages with employers and their surrounding ecosystem in expanding covered access for obesity management medications. His team does this by understanding the tensions that exist for these customers related to this disease state and bringing solutions that meet those challenges and allow for positive customer experiences.
Prior to this role, Dan held a number of roles at Eli Lilly. He worked closely with payers, health systems, pharmacies and wholesalers to ensure patients have affordable access to Lilly’s diabetes incretin portfolio. Other roles have included a non-promotional role leading a team of field reimbursement professionals who were dedicated to connecting patients to products with higher cost specialty medications. He has also led Lilly’s customer support programs, pricing/access/reimbursement strategy and execution for several of Lilly’s largest products and held various other roles within the value and access space. He is based in Indianapolis, IN, Lilly’s global and U.S. headquarters.
Dan has been involved in a number of different diversity, equity and inclusion groups inside and outside of Lilly. He was a board member for the Integrating Women Leaders Foundation, a main stage speaker at numerous diversity conferences, a lead team member for Lilly’s Women’s organization and the founding member of Men as Allies at Lilly.
Dan is surrounded at home by his wife, Danielle, and his two wonderful daughters. His passion for patient experience and navigating the complexity of the healthcare system extends beyond his professional career as he has taken on the role of caregiver in his family over the past few years.
