Beyond a Headache: Addressing Migraine Prevalence in the Women’s Workforce
Migraine is a complex, disabling neurological disease that is a leading cause of disability among working-aged adults, disproportionately impacting women (18%) compared to men (6%). This panel session will discuss how employers can support employees suffering from migraine, covering:
- The significant health burdens and comorbidities associated with migraine, including mental illness, cardiovascular disease, chronic pain and sleep disorders
- The challenges of diagnosing migraine and the direct and indirect costs of untreated or mismanaged cases
