Job Title: Graphic Design and Communications Specialist

Reports To: Marketing Executive and Team Lead

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary:

Employers Health (“EH”), a professional benefits organization, is seeking a Graphic Design & Communications Specialist to support its marketing, events and member engagement activities to work full-time in its Canton, Ohio office. Reporting to the Marketing Executive and Team Lead, this position is responsible for maintaining and ensuring organizational brand standards and all marketing and print collateral development including, but not limited to: annual report, event invitations, magazines, print advertisements, presentations and web graphics. The ideal candidate will be energetic, self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects and vendors, while producing timely, consistently accurate and high-quality design work

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conceive and design the EH annual report
  • Design and publish bi-annual EH Connect magazine, including digital components
  • Assist with 40+ events annually including development of promotional materials, invitations, brochures, event signage, digital graphics (web, PowerPoint, social media, etc.), etc.
  • Work with outside vendors to manage production of all print pieces from conception to completion and maintain quality checks on all pieces
  • Produce graphics and content including business cards, ads, blog posts, infographics, social media and e-newsletters
  • Serve as administrator of web-based content management system to promote Employers Health events, whitepapers and other content
  • Manage trade show displays, including display design, deployment logistics and related functions
  • Work with internal teams to produce and review mailing lists, and work with account management and business development team as needed to update contacts in Salesforce
  • Develop monthly schedule of social media posts to promote events and digital content
  • Work with Marketing Executive and Team Lead to manage and update organizational story and sales decks and related talking points quarterly
  • Maintain and communicate organizational brand guidelines as needed
  • As needed, travel to Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio and other Employers Health locations to assist the marketing team with facilitation of meetings and events
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the marketing and communications department to develop and execute strategies that support member retention, engagement and development opportunities

Skills Required:

  • Ability to contribute positively to a small but growing team in an ever-changing health care environment
  • Strong creative abilities and written communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with annual reports, magazine design and event invitations from concept to execution
  • Experience with WordPress and web-based event platforms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with strong emphasis on Word and PowerPoint
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Demonstrated knowledge of print production process
  • Experience with HTML and video a plus
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects, vendors and deadlines with skill and tact
  • Excellent creative, organizational, planning and prioritization skills
  • Attentive to timeliness and key milestones
  • Stellar attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines in a collaborative environment

Education and Experience Required:

  • Strong portfolio of relevant marketing and brand work across web, print and other channels
  • Proven experience in developing new creative concepts
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in graphic design, marketing, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of graphic design experience preferred
  • Basic motion graphic and web experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of health care industry and/or human resource activities a plus


Travel Required:

  • Limited overnight travel
