Darcy Gruttadaro, J.D.

Director of the Center for Workplace Mental Health at the American Psychiatric Association Foundation

Darcy Gruttadaro is the director of the Center for Workplace Mental Health. As director, she works with her team in developing and implementing the Center’s strategic direction in providing employers high impact tools and programs to support the mental health of employees and their families. The Center works with organizations of all sizes from Fortune 100 companies to small family owned businesses in creating effective approaches to improving the mental health and well-being of the workforce.

Before joining the Center, Ms. Gruttadaro served in senior level positions with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). She has expertise in expanding evidence-based practices, improving early intervention, designing insurance coverage for mental health services and building an array of effective services and supports that promote resiliency and recovery. Ms. Gruttadaro has also worked with national organizations representing managed care organizations and practiced law with the Harris Beach law firm, concentrating her legal practice on health care and mental health issues. She served as a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of NY. She earned a BS degree from Clarkson University and a JD from Western New England University School of Law.

Sean Godar, Ph.D., MBA

Vice President, Strategy and Analytics at Employers Health

Sean works closely with employers and human resource professionals to identify pain points and develop innovative strategies and recommendations to address client needs. Sean also works with team members to optimize our portfolio of products and services, strengthen organizational value and enhance the client experience. In addition, Sean serves as the co-director of Employers Health’s corporate social responsibility initiative – Right Direction – a collaboration with the American Psychiatric Association Foundation focused on increasing mental health awareness and promoting help-seeking behaviors in the workplace.

Prior to joining Employers Health, Sean worked as a Research Assistant Professor in the Pharmacology and Toxicology department at the University of Utah, where he studied the impact of early-life stress on the development of mental illness. Sean obtained his bachelor’s in biochemistry at the University of Dayton, his Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology and Toxicology at the University of Southern California, and his Global Executive MBA at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business.
