Bruce Sherman, MD, FCCP, FACOEM
Consulting Medical Director
As our consulting medical director, Bruce helps Employers Health and its members by lending his medical expertise. He develops customized programs that improve workplace health and productivity. Some of the programs he has consulted on include"Refuse to Misuse Antibiotics," "Control Your Diabetes for Life," and "Ready, Set…Goal!," a health awareness and literacy program. These programs control health care costs and increase productivity by ensuring appropriate health care utilization.
Previously, he was a consulting corporate medical director for Walmart, Whirlpool Corporation and The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. His experience includes working as medical director for a national worksite health care vendor. He has served as the director of quality improvement services for a regional hospital system. A recognized speaker at local, national, and international levels, Bruce presents health- and productivity-management strategies to diverse audiences. He has published numerous articles on related subjects. An active member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Health and Productivity Section, Bruce is also a member of the clinical faculty at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University, a master's in biology from Harvard University and a medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine.
